Christmas is a time that many families will be traveling across
the country. We hope each and every one of you have a safe and enjoyable Christmas.
Remember that Christmas is a time when we should be teaching our children about the gift
of giving. A time to help those less fortunate than ourselves.
We hope everyone had a great time at the
space derby. Thanks to all those that helped plan, set-up, and work the event. There were
lots of awesome rockets. Great job boys!

The pack is in need of a location to hold the Pinewood Derby and the Blue and Gold
Banquet. If your church or organization is able to help out please call Ben or
Debbie.
Pinewood
derby can be held in something the size of the school gym and the Blue and Gold Banquet
needs to be held somewhere that seats 200-250 people. Thanks for any help
How to make Soap Snow
Its fun to use Soap snow to make snow sculptures, miniature
snow forts, and indoor snow-people, but you can also create useful and decorative gift
soaps with the same recipe.
Ingredients: 2- 4 cups soap flakes to 1-cup cold
water.
Begin with 2 cups of soap flakes and ½ a cup of
water. Use an electric mixer to whip the mixture until the snow becomes
the consistency of cookie dough. Add more flakes and water, as needed.
Gift soap:
Pat the soap snow into
a thick sheet on waxed paper or plastic wrap. Then cut out shapes with cookie cutter
and allow them to dry.

Get revved up for Pinewood Derby
The 2002 pinewood derby is soon approaching and its time
to get those cars ready. Rules for the event are on the back of the newsletter.
We will need volunteers to aid in the check in, concession, and
operation of the starting gate and finish line. Please do not hesitate to tell your
leaders that you would like to help. We will be glad to train you in whatever job
you request.
The new
finish line has been ordered and will be working at the Derby to assure accurate finishes.

Pack 1036 is proud to have Janet Hamer, Keith Landrum, and Milton
Anderson as new den leaders. Welcome aboard!
